The Frazee Hornets picked up a top four finish as a team at the Long Prairie-Grey Eagle meet last Monday night. 

The Hornet girls trailed just Parkers Prairie, Holdingford and Sauk Centre to capture fourth place with a total team score of 117. Parkers Prairie won the meet with a score of 63, while Morris Area took fifth place with 122 points and Pillager finished in sixth place with 126 points. There were a total of nine schools that fielded a complete girls team at the meet.

Leading the charge for the Hornets was eighth grader Rilynn Ruiz who took 16th place with a time of 23:06.09. Senior Lola Hoehn was right on her tail as she took 20th place with a time of 23:44.74. Bristol Larsen finished in 24th place with a time of 23:57.02, Brooklyn Riewer took 39th place with a time of 26:47.85, Madi Perrine took 43rd place with a time of 27:19.54, Zoey St. Germain took 49th place with a time of 27:58.54 and Caleigh Pausch rounded out the team for the Hornets as she finished in 58th place with a time of 29:10.47.

On the boys side, Talon Hoverson and Hunter Piekarski led the way by taking 45th and 46th place respectively. Hoverson finished with a time of 21:43.72, while Piekarski finished with a time of 21:43.99. William Stroburg also competed for the Hornets and took 75th place with a time of 23:54.53.

This week the Hornets will travel to Bagley on Tuesday in their lone action of the week. The Hornets will return to action on Thursday, Sept. 25 when they travel to Fergus Falls and Saturday, Sept. 27 when they make the trek to Grand Forks, N.D.
