Cross country team competes at Bagley Invite

The Frazee Hornets made the most of their one meet of the week last week as they fielded both a varsity girls and boys team for an invite in Bagley. The girls team finished in 10th place, while the boys team captured 11th place in the large meet.
Lola Hoehne continued her solid senior season for the Hornets as she took 33rd place with a time of 23:46. Bristol Larson was right on her heels as the junior finished in 39th place with a time of 24:06. The junior high duo of Rilynn Ruiz and Brooklyn Riewer finished in 56th and 57th place respectively with times of 25:53 and 25:55.
Madi Perrine finished in 78th place with a time of 27:48, Caleigh Pausch finished in 80th place with a time of 28:11 and Zoey St. Germain finished in 81st place with a time of 28:12.
Jonah Sharp led the boys team with a 31st place finish with a time of 20:09. Hunter Piekarski finished with 57th place with a time of 21:25, Eli Heston finished with 73rd place with a time of 22:37, Talon Hoverson finished in 78th place with a time of 23:13 and William Stroburg rounded out the team score as he finished in 93rd place with a time of 25:31.
The girls meet was narrowly won by Barnesville with 79 points, while Parkers Prairie was second with 84 points and Bemidji finished in third place with 95 points. The Hornets finished in 10th place as a team with 209 points, edging both Lake Park-Audubon in 11th place with 247 points and Pelican Rapids in 12th place with 320 points.
The boys meet was won by Bemidji with a score of 46. Parkers Prairie took second place with 59 points and Thief River Falls finished in third place with 76 points. The Hornets took 11th place out of 13 complete teams with 280 points.
This week the Hornets will travel to Fergus Falls on Thursday for a meet at Pebble Lake Golf Course, before heading to Grand Forks on Saturday for a multi-state meet at Grand Forks Central.
