Both gymnasiums are already booked and the main hallway is filling up for the 4-Corners Lions Club’s 47th annual Craft and Vendor Show to be held at Frazee Elementary School on Saturday, Oct. 4.

Lions Clubs took over the show eight years ago with the Frazee Lions running it for five years, before handing over duties to the 4-Corners Club.

“There are over 60 booths and lots of new vendors this year, tons of new ones, we want people to know there will be something different this year,” Organizer Holly Gustner said.

The 4-Corners Lions got an early start on marketing the event and spread the word around the region with radio spots and social media. Vendors are expected from a wide area from Fargo to Pillager.

“We have people coming from all over,” said Gustner.

Admission is free to enter and lunch will be served.

Food options will be shredded turkey sandwiches or sloppy joes. A meal deal of a sandwich, chips, beverage of choice and a dessert bar is $10 or the items will be available on their own: sandwich $6, chips $1, dessert bar $2, water $1 and pop $2.

“All of the proceeds of this go back into the community, so as many people as we can get to come—the only way we make money is from food and the six raffles,” Gustner said.

A few of the area’s cottage license food producers will also be in the mix of vendors.

There are six raffle baskets, each approximately $100-$200 in value, with a variety of items for all attendees from a kids-specific basket to a binge basket, a grilling basket that features a $50 gift card to Ketter’s Meats, a margarita basket, a scratch-off lottery basket and a game day basket with two Vikings tickets for the Sunday Oct. 19 noon kickoff at home versus the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Vikings tickets were donated by The Fish Bowl.

Raffle drawings will be held at approximately 2:30 p.m. Winners need not be present to win, but organizers are hoping they will be at the show or come back to the show to pick up their baskets.

According to Gustner, the funds donated from the show typically go to cover needs at the school providing money, school supplies, clothing and other needed items; they support the Books for Bikes program and the toy drive.

“A lot of the money from this helps us do these things,” Gustner said.

Early thoughts are to use the proceeds this year to provide winter clothing via the school’s Hornet Care Closet.

The show is a few weeks earlier than normal this year. It used to be held the Saturday before Halloween, but was moved up after having run into conflicts in the recent past like fall sports playoff games and deer hunting.

“We changed it to the first weekend of October last year and that was helpful,” said Gustner.

A few vendor spots remain and organizers are willing to open up another hallway for vendors registering late but time is limited. Set-up is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 3. Contact Holly Gustner at hollygustner@gmail.com or text (320) 630-4688 for more information.

The Craft and Vendor Show runs from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Frazee Elementary School.
