The Frazee cross country team made the trek to Hawley on Thursday night for the annual Dale Skallerud Memorial meet. 

The Frazee boys placed 11th out of 18 teams competing with 333 points. They just nudged Pelican Rapids, who finished in 12th place with 339 points, and Lake Park-Audubon, who finished in 13th place with 349 points. Moorhead won the boys meet with 65 points, while Hawley took second with 84 points. 

The boys team was led by Jonah Sharp who finished in 38th place with a time of 19:43, while eighth grader Coltyn Pender posted a personal best to finish in 42nd place with a time of 19:47. Talon Hoverson finished in 87th place with a time of 21:51, Hunter Piekarski finished in 89th place with a time of 21:54 and Eli Heston finished in 90th place with a time of 21:59. 

The Frazee girls team finished in 12th place with 262 points. They finished just behind Fargo South who had 257 points and finished in 11th place. A total of 16 complete teams competed in the race. 

The Hornets were once again led by eighth grader Rilynn Ruiz who finished in 16th place with a time of 21:52. Senior Lola Hoehne finished in 42nd place with a time of 23:06, Bristol Larsen finished in 56th place with a time of 24:14, Brooklynn Riewer finished in 64th place with a time of 24:27, Zoey St. Germain finished in 99th place with a time of 27:05 and Caleigh Pausch finished in 104th place with a time of 28:46.

This week the Hornets will compete in just one meet as they travel to Perham to participate in an invite at Arvig Park on Thursday afternoon.
