Book clubs may want to take note of a very unique opportunity to have two sessions with an author. Vivia Leigh is offering up to five people in a club the chance to host a virtual video chat with her after the third and seventh chapters have been read by the club members. She is open to in-person visits as well, as long as she is in the area that the club meets, and COVID-19 protocols are followed.
If tearing down walls, ripping up flooring and being an active community members sounds like a good way to spend time, the CornerStone group wants to chat. The youth and community oriented group is seeking volunteers for demolition and remodeling work to prepare its new building for the farm-to-table bistro, and later the youth center. Karen Pifher, a member of the CornerStone board, invited anyone interested in volunteering to contact her.
Ta Fett was recently named the Multi-Level Counselor of the Year by the Minnesota School Counselor Association.

Ben Rower’s Construction erects framework for the new barbershop on Main Ave. in Frazee. Ben and his father Dave are doing all the work except the plumbing and electrical and plan to be done in three weeks. Last week Oswald and Son (O&S) poured the concrete.
The proposed school excess levy referendum is not for the construction of a new gym. The Frazee School Board squelched this rumor at its meeting Monday, Oct. 9. Squelching of a rumor connecting the referendum with a new gym was one of a number of items discussed at the meeting whose agenda was as varied as food at potluck meals, which happened to be another item discussed.
The City of Frazee received no bids on its three main street lots offered for sale this past month. Bids were to be opened at its Monday, Oct. 9 meeting, but none were presented in time for the meeting. Jim Rader said he was disappointed in the lack of bids, as there was quite a bit of interest shown in the lots.

Mrs. Helen Daggett of Frazee and a resident at the Frazee Retirement Center was named “Lady Outstanding Senior Citizen” at the Becker County Hobby and Talent Show held Friday at the Detroit Lakes Armory. Mrs. Daggett was awarded an inscribed plaque commending her for her many years of service to the community of Frazee.
A large crowd attended the Frazee Community Luncheon at the Retirement Center Tuesday noon to greet Frazee’s former mayors and hear a report from the Minnesota aHighway Dept. District IV Engineer on the Highway 10 & 87 Interchange construction plans slated for next summer.
Homecoming Queen candidates are five senior girls: Dorothy Nistler, Shirley Moss, Penny Fuchs, Linda Ziegler and Annette Niemi.
