Tyler Trieglaff, Char Putnam, Margaret and Tom Trieglaff have been named one of eight finalists  in the 2025 Outstanding Conservationist Award Program. One of the eight statewide finalists will be announced as the State’s Outstanding Conservationist of the Year at the Wednesday, Dec. 3 luncheon during the Minnesota Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts’ 89th annual convention in Bloomington.

The Minnesota Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts (MASWCD) has named Blue Line Farm of Frazee  as one of eight Area Finalists in the 2025 Outstanding Conservationist Award Program.

Tom and Margaret Trieglaff along with Tyler Trieglaff and Char Putnam will be recognized at a Wednesday, Dec. 3 luncheon at MASWCD’s 89th annual convention in Bloomington.

The awards program recognizes farm families, individuals, conservation organizations, and other groups for their accomplishments in implementing conservation practices and improving Minnesota’s natural resources.

Of the eight finalists, one will be announced as the State’s Outstanding Conservationist of the Year at the Dec. 3 luncheon.

“We’re proud of the Trieglaff’s for what they’ve done in conserving the natural resources in our area,” said Bryan Malone, Administrator of the Becker Soil and Water Conservation District, which nominated Blue Line Farm for the award. “It’s great to be able to recognize the work they’ve done locally. They’ve provided a wonderful example for us by implementing a prescribed grazing system on 230 acres which included pasture planting, fencing, pipeline and water tanks. They also implement soil health practices on their cropland such as no-till and planting cover crops to protect their soil after harvest each year. Tom and Tyler are great communicators and promoters of conservation practices. They allowed us to plan and hold two (2024 and 2025) prescribed grazing training sessions at their farm where they explained the practices they have implemented and invited other producers and the NRCS/SWCD staff to attend.”

Another education activity includes the “Frazee Police Report.” Tyler does a weekly article for the Frazee-Vergas Forum newspaper and not only talk about law enforcement but what is happening on the farm.
