Becker County Deputies and Officers responded to the area of Co Hwy 6 in Detroit Lakes to search for a burglary suspect at 8:31 p.m., on Wednesday, Oct. 15.  Officers located a vehicle that was running in the parking lot but the driver was missing.  

Deputy Adam Winter and his partner K9 Rex responded to the area to search for the suspect.  Upon searching the area, K9 Rex picked up a track north of where the vehicle was parked. K9 Rex, Deputy Winter and Deputy Hanson tracked the male suspect for nearly a mile through tall grass, crossing roads and into a ravine.

As K9 Rex and deputies approached, the male suspect put his hands up and surrendered. The male party was taken into custody and brought to the Becker County Jail.
