0Otter Tail County commissioners will host a community open house on Nov. 17 from 7-9 p.m. at the Government Services Center, 500 W. Fir Ave. in Fergus Falls.
The informal gathering will give residents a chance to meet directly with commissioners and county staff to discuss local initiatives and services. It is not a formal Board of Commissioners meeting.
“We want to hear from you,” said Commissioner Sean Sullivan, who represents District 5. “This open house is your chance to meet county staff face-to-face, learn about the services available to you, and share your ideas about the future of your county. I encourage all residents to stop by.”
County employees from several departments will be available to share information and answer questions.
Residents can meet new County Engineer Jodi Teich and hear updates on 2025 construction projects and progress on the long-range transportation plan. Community development staff will share details about new housing and community projects.
The event also will feature information about the county’s curbside single-sort recycling pilot program from Natalee Yates, the new public information and education officer for solid waste. Financial services staff will demonstrate a fraud-fighting tool available for residents to sign up for property fraud alerts. The treasurer’s office staff will provide updates and answer questions.
Following brief presentations, attendees can speak directly with county commissioners, ask questions and provide feedback. Light refreshments will be served.
The event is free and open to all residents.
