A benefit for Scott “Bubba” King will be held Saturday, December 6, from 3-7 p.m., at the Vergas Event Center.

Proceeds from the free-will dinner, silent auction, horse races, and raffle will support the King family. Bubba was diagnosed with Stage IV Metastatic NSCLC Adenocarcinoma.

On Friday, Oct. 10, an X-ray revealed  a mass in his upper right lung, and the diagnosis soon followed. Since then, the days have been filled with doctor visits, scans, radiation treatments, and long drives to Fargo for care. He’s already completed radiation on two spots in his brain and will begin radiation on his rib next, followed by chemo and immunotherapy every three weeks.

Through it all, Bubba has stayed determined to keep working and remain positive. His employer, Maxx Extraction, has been incredibly supportive, but the financial strain from travel, treatment, and time away from work is significant.

Come rally around Bubba and Cheri as they face this fight together – to lift some of the burden so they can focus on healing and hope. Any contribution, big or small, will help lighten their load and remind them they’re not walking this road alone.

Bubba and his wife of 33 years, Cheri, live in rural Vergas.
