Tyler Trieglaff and Char Putnam were in attendance to accept the Minnesota Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts (MASWCD) Outstanding Conservationists award on Wednesday, Dec. 3, in Bloomington.
Blue Line Farm of Frazee was named one of eight finalists in the award program in October.
Tom and Margaret Trieglaff were also recognized at the award luncheon of MASWCD’s 89th annual convention.
The awards program recognizes farm families, individuals, conservation organizations, and other groups for their accomplishments in implementing conservation practices and improving Minnesota’s natural resources.
Bryan Malone, administrator of the Becker Soil and Water Conservation District, nominated Blue Line Farm for the award.
“It’s great to be able to recognize the work they’ve done locally,” Malone said. “They’ve provided a wonderful example for us by implementing a prescribed grazing system on 230 acres which included pasture planting, fencing, pipeline and water tanks. They also implement soil health practices on their cropland such as no-till and planting cover crops to protect their soil after harvest each year. Tom and Tyler are great communicators and promoters of conservation practices.
MASWCD sponsors the Outstanding Conservationist Award Program, with support from The Farmer magazine.
