The varsity jazz team (above) and the varsity kick team (below) opened their season last week.

The Frazee Dance Team traveled to Wadena-Deer Creek High School for the Heart of the Lakes Kick Conference on Thursday, Dec. 4. The varsity kick team placed sixth out of nine teams with a total of 250/500 points. The team scored well in creativity and placement and control. Top spots in kick were awarded to Crosby-Ironton (1), Bagley (2), DGF (3), Pelican Rapids (4), and Hawley (5). All of these teams are also in Section 4A. Frazee scored well in the following categories: visual effectiveness, placement and control, and routine effectiveness. 

On Saturday, Dec. 5 the dance team traveled to ROCORI High School for a big meet including 14 teams in the Class A division. The JV Jazz team had their season debut and finished eighth out of 10 teams. They scored well in the following categories: placement and control and routine effectiveness. 

The Varsity Jazz team had their second showing of the season and what a great performance it was! They placed eighth out of 14 teams. They scored well in the following categories: difficulty of skills and routine effectiveness. Top placements went to Lac qui Parle/Dawson-Boyd(1), Holdingford (2) and Crosby-Ironton (3). 

The Varsity Kick team was back again for their third showing of the season. They placed 10th out of 13 teams. Unfortunately, the Fly Girls lost points due to a fall, but it did not impact their placing. The girls recovered well and continued to finish the dance strong. The kick team scored well in the following categories: creativity and visual effectiveness. Top placements went to Lac qui Parle/Dawson-Boyd (1), Holdingford (2) and Crosby-Ironton (3).

The Fly Girls are looking forward to competing in Detroit Lakes on Saturday, Dec. 13. Doors open at 11:15 a.m. with the competition starting at 12 p.m. JV Jazz competes at approximately 12:58 p.m., varsity jazz at 1:38 p.m. and varsity kick at 3:35 p.m.
