Jonas Allen Zion, 37 of Frazee, has been charged with felony second-degree criminal sexual conduct in Becker County District Court.

The charge included the victim being under age 13 and the actor more than 36 months older.

In Minnesota, sexual contact with a person under the age of 13 by an actor who is more than 36 months older is classified as second-degree criminal sexual conduct. Sexual penetration under the same age difference and conditions is classified as first-degree criminal sexual conduct.

According to court records, a Frazee police officer took a report on Sept. 7, 2025, of a past sexual assault of a minor child. Several years ago, Zion allegedly sexually touched an underaged girl on several occasions, admitting to the crime and apologized.

Nine days later, Zion spoke to an officer stating the contact was accidental. 

Allegedly, he stated it has been “eating him ever since” because he “touched her and it was wrong,” according to the criminal complaint.

A summons was issued to Zion the following week.

His first court appearance is set for Tuesday, Dec. 30 before Becker County District Judge Gretchen D. Thilmony.
