Sheriff Todd Glander announced he will not seek reelection in a social media post Friday, Jan. 16. The post in its entirety is below:
To the Citizens of Becker County,
After serving this community while wearing the uniform and badge for 38 years, and three terms as your Sheriff, I am announcing that I will not be seeking re-election. The decision to retire at the end of this term did not come without hours of prayer, reflection, and heartfelt discussions with my wife. I have been blessed to serve this county since 1988, especially the past 11 years as your Sheriff, and will continue to honorably serve this county until the conclusion of this term next January.
Since being elected, I have held high expectations of respect and professionalism from my staff. Those expectations will continue to remain unwavering as we continue serving the citizens whom we have taken an oath to protect. I have had the privilege of serving with outstanding individuals who have demonstrated exemplary acts of courage, bravery, and honor, and continue to go above and beyond the call of duty. These exceptional professionals, Deputies, Communications Officers, Corrections Officers, Administrative Support Staff, Bailiffs, and Courthouse Security, continue to perform at the highest level and remain committed to serving you, the residents of Becker County.
I want to thank everyone for your support of law enforcement, the Becker County Sheriff’s Office, and all who serve this fine county and the communities within. I thank the incredible individuals who will continue to serve you in the future.
Finally, I want to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who has supported me throughout this journey—friends, family, and especially my wife, who has been my rock since the day I answered an ad in the local paper for a “Jailer” many years ago.
Thank you, Becker County, for your trust in me and allowing me to serve as your Sheriff. May God continue to bless and watch over this county and all who serve.
Sincerely,
Sheriff Todd D. Glander
