The Frazee girls wrestlers made the trek to Central Cass on Saturday for the Belle of the Brawl tournament. The tournament featured 36 teams from across Minnesota, North and South Dakota with freshman Grace Hamm leading the way for the Hornets with an impressive fifth place finish.

Hamm, who is currently ranked 10th at 136 lbs. in the state, opened the tournament with a pin at the 1:30 mark of her match against Alexys De Los Santos of Northern Lights. In the second round, Hamm picked up a quick pin over Jayden Greer of Fargo at the 1:13 mark of the match to advance to the quarterfinals of the 130 lbs. bracket.

Unfortunately, Hamm dropped a 19-2 tech fall to fourth seeded Alyssa Hoyles of Grafton to drop to the consolation bracket. She would go on to secure a pair of pins in the consolation bracket to advance to the fifth place match against Payton Russell of Minot. Hamm jumped out to an early lead and led 10-1 after the second period and held on for a 12-1 major decision to finish in fifth place.

Rachael Courneya took eighth place at 106 lbs. after defeating Keighty Harris of Valley Victy by a pin in the opening round of the tournament at the 1:30 mark of her match. She would go on to win by a medical forfeit in the second round, before falling to Anna White of Central Cass by a 6-3 decision in overtime.

Courneya would go on to pin Maci Puppe of Pembina County North to advance to the consolation semi-finals where she would fall by a pin in the second to Ella Brown of Minot to finish the tournament in eighth place.

Lola Hoehne dropped her opening round match at 124 lbs. by a 9-0 decision, but bounced back with a 9-6 decision over Kenleigh Davis of Bismarck Legacy in the consolation bracket, as well as a pin over Keira Kozojed of Hillsboro/CV at the 1:23 mark of the match to advanced to the fourth round of the consolation bracket.

Unfortunately her tournament would come to a close when Hoehne fell to Adaleene Hansen of Lisbon by a first period fall in the fourth round of the consolation tournament.

Kiera Ard won her opening round match over Paiton Waterifeld of New Salem-Almont by a pin in just 41 seconds in the 136 lbs. tournament. She lost her second round match by a pin to top seeded Emily Pulk of BGMR at the 3:23 mark of the match, before securing a pin over Maclaren Jones of Lisbon in 33 seconds in the consolation bracket. She also defeated Lily Skaurud of West Fargo United by a pin at 1:40, before having her tournament come to close by Leah Dahle of Devils Lake by a pin in the consolation bracket quarterfinals.

As a team the Hornets finished with 46 points, which was good enough for 20th place out of 36 teams in the tournament. Bismarck Legacy took first place with 205.5 points, while Lisbon took second place with 200.5 points.

Other local teams competing in the tournament was Breckenridge who finished with 35 points and Barnesville who finished with three points.
