Perham man held on attempted murder in Saturday stabbing

A 22-year-old Perham man is facing felony attempted murder charges after breaking into a woman’s apartment and stabbing her multiple times at approximately 10:16 a.m., on Saturday, Feb. 8, according to the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office.
Cyrus Lee Olson allegedly forced entry into the apartment of a 45-year-old Perham woman. Olson was seen actively stabbing and physically assaulting the woman until a neighbor intervened and called 911.The neighbor likely saved the woman’s life, according to the news release.
The woman fled from her apartment to a friend’s residence a short distance away. She was treated at the scene by Perham EMS for multiple stab wounds and other injuries before being transported to Perham Health
She was later taken by a Lifelink medical transport for additional treatment and her condition was listed as serious, according to the news release.
Olson was located and arrested shortly after the incident and transported to the Otter Tail County Detention Facility.
Olson is being held on felony charges, including: attempted second-degree murder, first-degree burglary, aggravated robbery, and second-degree assault.
