The Frazee Fly Girls jazz team will be making a return to the state dance competition this weekend after placing first at the section meet in Wadena last weekend. State dance for jazz is currently scheduled for Friday, March 12 at Edina High School. The high kick team also competed in the section meet last Saturday and placed fifth.
Vergas will soon be welcoming The Lavish Loon, a new retail business on Main Street. Sarah Wacker is hoping to open by early spring. “I take possession of the building on April 1,” she said. “I’m trying to be organized and plan ahead so once I get the building I get up and running.”
Construction season is inching closer and soon detour signs will go up near Frazee. As soon as weather allows, work on the Otter Tail River bridge will begin. For several years, Minnesota Department of Transportation has been planning the State Highway 87 project in two phases. The first phase is estimated to cost about $20 million and is set to be done this year. The second phase is estimated to cost $5 million and tackles the portion in city limits in 2022.

Newly elected members of the Frazee-Vergas High School Chapter of National Honor Society are Nick Riewer, Nicole Ferguson, Tricia Teiken, Laura Robinson, Lisa Knutson, American Riewer, Ryan Osterman, Mia Yliniemi, Theresa Peichel, Gail Zick, Tammy Olson, Shari Schultz, Gabe Frobenius, Kyle Bahls, Chad Hausmann, Nathan Johnson, Holly Anderson and Traci Blaine.
National Honor Society hold over members are Theresa Egbert, Chase Yliniemi, Kristen Goebel, Samantha Walker, Ann Peichel, Stacey Hedlund, Jeanne Hendrickson, Elonora Del Gaudio, Josh Thompson, Stephanie Rohweder, Jennifer Hesby, John Kostynick.
Wednesday, March 13, is the date of Frazee’s next community luncheon. Special guests attending this luncheon will be the Seniors on the high school’s girls basketball, boys basketball and gymnastics teams and their coaches. Speaking at this community luncheon will be Jack Longfors, FHS Class of 1975. Jack was an outstanding basketball player while in High School and then went on to star in that sport at Mayville State College.

The annual meeting of the Frazee Coop Farm Service Assn. was. called to order by President Peter Linden at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, 1976 in the Lower Elementary School in Frazee. The 1967 feed refunds of over $11,000 were paid to patrons. Gary Fischer, Auditor for the Coop Auditing Service, presented the 1975 annual report. Sales of $553,000 was reached, the highest in our Coop’s history.
It has been more than a decade since Fred R. Wacker has attended the Red River Valley Winter Shows. But this year he was back, not to judge livestock in FFA competition but to be the representative from Becker County for King Agassiz XVI. Wacker carries on an active farming operations in Toad Lake Township at Route 2 Frazee.
Through the coordination of several civic minded organizations and the Detroit Lakes Rural Minnesota CEP Center, the City of Pelican Rapids has a public work project that will employ up to 25 area unemployed to improve the swimming beach, the athletic field and to construct biking, hiking, horse riding and snowmobile trials.
