The Community Cantata singers, under the direction of Adam Tervola Hultberg, have been working for six weeks to prepare this year’s Community Lenten Cantata,  

“On a Hill Too Far Away.” The choir is excited to be sharing the dramatic events of Holy Week in song on Sunday, March 29, at 3 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in New York Mills and on Wednesday, April 1, at 6:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Perham.

The choir is made up of singers from Perham, New York Mills, Vergas, Dent, Ottertail and Frazee.  They represent a large number of churches from these communities, including the host churches, Trinity Lutheran and St. Paul’s.  

The choir is directed by Adam Tervola Hultberg and accompanied by Janell Brakel.  The concert at St. Paul’s Lutheran will include prelude music by the St. Paul’s Bell Choir, and both host churches will serve refreshments after the concert. Attendees may contribute to a free will offering at either concert, if they choose to. 

The Lenten Cantata provides a meaningful start to Holy Week for all who desire such an experience, and the Cantata choir looks forward to presenting this concert to our communities.
