Otter Tail County Commissioners will host a community open house on Monday, April 13, from 7-9 p.m. at the Pelican Rapids Public Library, 25 W. Mill Ave. The event is not a formal Board of Commissioners meeting. It is a chance for residents to talk directly with commissioners and county staff about local programs and services.

“Pull up a chair. We want to hear from you,” said Commissioner Wayne Johnson, District 2. “This open house is about hearing from our neighbors. Come with your questions, come with your ideas.”

County staff from several departments will be on hand to share information and answer questions. Topics will include:

• An introduction to the Family Resource Center in New York Mills

• Highway planning and 2026 construction updates

• Solid Waste updates on the new organics composting site and other 2026 projects

• An overview of the Board of Appeals process from the County Assessor’s Office ahead of April meetings

After brief presentations, attendees can speak with commissioners and staff, ask questions, and share feedback. Light refreshments will be served.

The event is free and open to all Otter Tail County residents.
