Ryan Strugar wants more people to enjoy the great outdoors and know the love of Christ. The Dent resident teamed up with two faith-based organizations to provide those opportunities to children from around the state—Feed the Fish and Fishing for Life. The latter just held a turkey hunt that Strugar helped organize. It was the first year for the hunting exhibition that was available to kids younger than 18.

Fresh picked flowers have the power to brighten one’s day, provide a quaint and elegant centerpiece for tables and send a pleasant lingering scent to nearby noses. Rural Vergas resident Bayleigh Lautenschlager is making finding fresh picked flowers easy, and will even deliver weekly or bi-weekly bouquets in a 15 mile radius of Vergas. That covers Frazee, Vergas, Perham and Detroit Lakes.

Jordin Roberts will be the next city administrator of Frazee and will begin Monday, May 17. The council and department heads had narrowed the pool of candidates to their two top picks after conducting all of the interviews. The answer to one question tipped the favor toward Roberts.

Two AFS students, Samantha “Sam” Walker of New Zealand and Eleonora Del Gaudio of Italy were guests at the Frazee Community Luncheon last Wednesday at FRC. Samantha radiates with pride as she speaks of her country and its beauty, as anyone who has visited New Zealand will verify. Eleonorda Del Gaudio of Italy is enjoying her year in Frazee with host family Dave, Nancy, Cory and Nicole Ferguson.

After being introduced at the Frazee Community Luncheon, Brian Fritsinger was back at his office at the city office last Wednesday. Brian is the new Economic Developer, replacing Terry Stallman, for Frazee, Perham and New York Mills. He is in the process of getting his feet on the ground, touring the town, facilities and generally speaking, getting acquainted with the area for their needs.

Neither rain, nor sleet, nor storm, nor warning of forthcoming storm, or bad road conditions, could stop this busload of 40 women Friday morning headed for the Ladies National Bowling Tournament at Cedar Rapids Iowa, to return in the wee hours of the morning Monday.
