The Frazee Hornets hit the road for a pair of outdoor meets last week at Barnesville and Hawley. 

This week the Hornets will host a meet on Tuesday, before hosting the Section True Team meet next Tuesday beginning at 10 a.m. 

Tuesday

Frazee picked up five top finishes and countless top 10 finishes overall at the Barnesville Booster Track meet on Tuesday afternoon.

Katie Courneya captured the top spot in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:52.37, while the 4×200-meter relay team also captured the top spot on the podium with a time of 1:50.77. 

Other top finishes for the girls included a pair of top three finishes by Aynslee Johannsen who took second place in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.3 and third place in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 51.28. 

Brynn Larson took third place in the high jump with a jump of 4’11” and Ava Leishman took third place in the triple jump with a jump of 32’ 1/2” and fourth place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.75. Leslie Moore also fared well at the meet as she took third place in a competitive shot put category with a throw of 34’5”.

On the boys side, Ayden Grossman followed up his first place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 51.84 with a pair of third place finishes in both the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.55 and in the long jump with a jump of 19’.

Tyden Schaefer captured a pair of top finishes in both the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.06 and the pole vault with a vault of 15’1”. 

Michael Chisholm also led the way for the Hornets with a second place finish in the shot put with a throw of 43’7”.

Thursday

On Thursday the Hornets made the trek to Hawley to compete in the 13-team United Clay Becker Booster Invite. 

Leslie Moore led the way for the girls team as the senior finished in second place in the shot put with a throw of 31’9” and third place in the discus with a throw of 94’. Also in the field events, Jayden Sonnenberg took fourth place in the triple jump with a jump of 31’5”, while Ava Leishman took seventh place in the long jump with a jump of 14’5 1/2”. 

Bristol Larsen and Lola Hoehne finished in second and third place in the 3200 meter run with times of 13”46.85 and 13:48.09. Ruby Eckert and Aubree Bristlin finished in fourth and fifth place in the 200-meter dash with times of 28.73 and 28.97.

On the boys side, Michael Chisholm finished in second place in the discus with a throw of 130’11” and fourth place in the shot put with a shot of 40’8 1/2”.

Talon Halverson took sixth place in the 400-meter dash with a time of 57.54, while Jonah Sharp and Coltyn Pender took seventh and eighth place in the 3200-meter run with times of 11:31.04 and 12:13.66.
