Born in 1920, Florence Pierson has traveled the world, been a daughter, sister, member of the Navy, wife, mother, grandmother and is now the oldest living female alumni of the Frazee-Vergas School District. During all her travels and experiences, she feels most fortunate about being born and raised in Frazee. “Small town life style, knowing almost everyone, extended social activities, caring, sharing… it’s all there,” she said.

With lumber prices soaring the Frazee Economic Development Authority wasn’t sure where bids would come in for the downtown strip mall. Several bids were submitted for the 8,122-square-foot building that is set to be built near the corner of Lake Street (State Highway 87) and Main Avenue. Bristlin Construction, a Detroit Lakes based contractor, provided the lowest bid at $789,000, which the EDA accepted.

Jaden Keeping and Payton Wothe were both prom committee members. The Frazee High School students were two of 44 couples/groups that participated in the grand march on Saturday, May 1. The grand march was held at the high school. The prom was at the Frazee Event Center.

Frazee’s Centennial Tree has been planted. It is planted next to its 100 year old relative in the R.L. Frazee Centennial Park. A white pine tree was the only choice for the Centennial Tree because it was the forests of tall, huge pines that attracted the loggers to this area over 100 years ago. On Arbor Day Friday, April 26th, the crew of Ron Jensen, Gary Negen, Ike Fischer and Roxann Daggett went to Agnes Cole’s property to select the tree. Agnes donated one of the few small white pine trees that exist in the area. Gary Negen donated his tree removal equipment to bring the tree to the Park.

The Frazee Community Luncheon will be Wednesday, May 8. Speaking at this luncheon will be Steve Daggett, FHS Class of 1987 and now a graduate of Concordia College at Moorhead. Guests from Frazee High School will be many of the Honor Students from this year’s graduating class, and the Seniors from the softball, baseball, and golf teams, along with their coaches.

The accident happened about seven miles southwest of Detroit Lakes on the DeRoxe road. Lindenmuth was found dead in his car about 7 a.m. that day by a Becker County deputy sheriff on his way to work. He apparently lost control of his car, which rolled three or four times and hit a tree.
