Allen Michael Alberts, 33, has been charged with manslaughter after a motor vehicle crash in which he was driving resulted in the death of a Dent woman.

The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a motor vehicle crash involving injuries at approximately 6 a.m., on Saturday, May 2, near 460th Street, southwest of Perham.

Upon arrival, officers found Nichole Shoultz, 40, of Dent, had been ejected from a Ford F150 pickup that left the roadway and overturned in a field.

Shoultz was transported to Perham Health in a private vehicle, allegedly, several hours after the crash occurred. Shoultz succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.

Deputies and officers placed Alberts into custody on a charge of felony manslaughter and a gross misdemeanor violation of a domestic abuse no contact order (DANCO).

The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s office was assisted by Perham Police and the Minnesota State Patrol.
