Owners Kyle Theisen, Vanessa Perry and Jordan Sleen announced the passing of the state inspection at Full Spectrum Dispensary, a new cannabis dispensary that will be located at 235 E Frazee Avenue.
The store’s sign was installed in mid-May, but the business was on hold awaiting state approval.
“What felt like 10+ years in the making all came down to the state inspection yesterday, which we passed with flying colors,” the trio announced in a June 2 social media post. “Full Spectrum Dispensary is official and opening very soon.”
The application applied for was a cannabis microbusiness with a retail endorsement – a vertically integrated license that allows an operation on a smaller, localized scale. The dispensary can legally grow, manufacture, and sell their own products directly to consumers and other businesses, all under a single license.
Microbusinesses cannot exceed their 5,000 square foot plant canopy (unlike mezzobusinesses, which are capped at 15,000 square feet). A microbusiness is strictly limited to operating only one retail location statewide.
The owners declined interviews for a few weeks to concentrate on preparing the dispensary for opening. They are currently taking applications for Budtenders. More information on this new Vergas business will be coming later this month.
The Vergas Economic Development Authority (EDA) / Housing Redevelopment Authority (HRA) held their monthly meeting a day after the announcement on Wednesday, June 3.
The group continued to discuss funding avenues for the continuing daycare development, along with an upcoming meeting to discuss support from the Rural Child Care Innovation Program (RCCIP), an initiative of First Children’s Finance and a community engagement process designed to increase the supply of high-quality, affordable child care in rural communities.
The three projects that are being discussed are facility support; course development, a recruitment piece for providers and information on licensing support; and ongoing provider support after the build, joining area provider associations and other connections.
