Frazee legion team drops a pair to Barnesville

The Frazee American Legion baseball team dropped a pair of games to Barnesville on Wednesday, June 24.
In the opening game of the night, Post 15 outhit Barnesville 3-2, but eight errors proved to be too much for Frazee to overcome.
Frazee opened the scoring in the top of the second inning when they scored on an error, before Barnesville scored three runs in the bottom of the inning thanks to a pair of errors and a bases loaded walk.
Post 15 stayed within striking distance after Blake Sonnenberg scored on a passed ball in the top of the fourth inning to make the score 3-2 in favor of Barnesville. Unfortunately, two more runs scored in the bottom of the fourth inning on a pair of errors to give Barnesville the 5-2 win.
Sonnenberg led the way offensively for Frazee as he collected two of the three team hits. He also scored both runs in the game.
Karson Krause took the loss on the hill as he went 5 2/3 innings, giving up two hits, five unearned runs, two walks and struck out five hitters.
In the second game of the day, Barnesville scored 13 runs in the top of the second inning to come away with a 14-0 win over Post 15. Barnesville also scored a run in the top of the first inning on an RBI single.
Nolyn Prellwitz, Mason Mickelson, Karson Krause and Dillon Sonnenberg led the way offensively for Frazee with one hit apiece and Mason Mickelson took the loss on the mound as he went 1 1/3 innings and gave up six hits, nine earned runs, two walks and one strikeout. Conner Erickson pitched 1/3 of an inning and gave up two hits, five runs of which one was earned, one walk and one strikeout. Prellwitz pitched the final 3 1/3 innings and gave up just two hits, no runs, three walks and struck out four batters.
This week Post 15 is scheduled to travel to Hawley on Wednesday and Post 53 on Thursday.
