The Frazee Hornets had one of their best meets of the season on Tuesday as they set 14 season best times and continued to finish near the top of the standings at a meet featuring teams across west central and central Minnesota.

The boys team led the charge on Tuesday night as they finished in third place as a team with 88 total points. Wadena-Deer Creek won the meet with 32 points, while Holdingford took second with 66 points. There were 12 teams on the boys side in the meet.

The Hornets were led by Coltyn Pender who took ninth place overall with a time of 18:18.06. Matthew Sharp finished in 17th place with a time of 19:10.64, Talon Hoverson finished in 23rd place with a time of 19:29.42, Hunter Piekarski finished in 26th place with a time of 19:39.74 and Paul Sharp finished in 27th place with a time of 19:40.07.

On the girls side, Frazee took seventh place with a score of 159. Wadena-Deer Creek won the meet with 54 points, while United North Central took second place with 68 points.

The Hornets were led by Rilynn Ruiz who took ninth place with a time of 20:58.41. Bristol Larsen took 26th place with a time of 22:34.71, Alydia Mitchell took 51st place with a time of 24:56.24, Zoey St. Germain took 63rd place with a time of 26:31.63, Brylee Anderson took 64th place with a time of 26:40.26 and Madilyn Perrine took 70th place with a time of 28:34.92.

In addition to the varsity races, the Frazee girls JV team took first place as a team with 15 points as Rachael Courneya and Brenna Swenson finished in first and second place with times of 16:51.20 and 19:46.83 to lead the charge. Brooklynn Riewer took sixth place with a time of 21:06.17, Ella Johnson took 14th place with a time of 22:25.66 and Olivia Stockstrom took 19th place with a time of 23:42.15. 

This week the Hornets will travel to Grand Forks Central for the annual Border Bash cross country meet. The meet is one of the largest of the season for the Frazee cross country team with teams competing from across the tri-state area.
