repare for a night of terror at the fifth annual CornerStone Haunted Forest and Farm Friday and Saturday, Oct. 16-17 from 6:30-10:30 p.m. ¶ The farm is located at 35646 154th Street, in rural Frazee. ¶ A special daytime session with no live scares, meant for children and those who want to get a peak at the setup during daylight hours on Saturday, Oct. 17, from 1-3 p.m. ¶ “We’ve got a few new areas and our route is a little bit longer this year, we’ve added a few new sections we are getting prepped and prepared for,” said Organizer Mackenzie Hamm. ¶ Last year’s event was attended by more than 800 people. ¶ “It’s pretty exciting; we’re hoping for 1,000,” said Hamm. “I feel like we have the capacity for 1,000.” ¶ Getting to that number may cause a cram at the end of each evening. Anyone arriving by 10:30 p.m., will be allowed into the forest.“If we’ve got people parked and in line we’ll make sure we stay put and get you through,” Hamm said.
The 6:30 p.m. start time is right around dusk light for anyone approaching the scares with trepidation.
“If you think you’re ready for live scares, but not in the dark come 6:30-7 because it’s dusky; you’ll see what is coming ahead of you,” said Hamm. “It’s not as scary, so don’t judge us on the scare factor from 6:30-7:15. It’s scarier when it’s dark-dark.”
The trail traverses a mile through the woods and another quarter-mile through the barnyard and buildings.
Entrance fee is $15 per person. The Saturday afternoon session is only $5.
This is the fifth version of the Halloween-themed event. The first was held indoors at CornerStone in 2022 that had 400 attendees, before moving to Hank Ludtke Park the following year and the last two years at the farm.
Volunteers are needed to help run the two-day event.
“It’s super important because that’s how it runs,” said Hamm.
Last year, there were 61 kids and 67 adults involved.
“That’s exciting and we want to make sure we have enough people to help park the cars, keep everyone safe and most importantly, scare them through their adventures into the woods and barnyard,” said Hamm.
Contact Hamm at (218) 329-6199 for more information and to sign up. Or fill out the form available on the Facebook event page: CornerStone: Frazee Community and Youth Project.
Volunteers each receive a free T-shirt.
The all-volunteer event allows all proceeds to go back to CornerStone Community, Youth, & Family Resource Center – a 501c3 non-profit. An additional way to help this year is the Amazon Wishlist.
“I know a lot of people can’t be there physically to help, but if they want to buy a solar light for us, we’ll take that,” said Hamm.
To find the wishlist on Amazon, click find a registry or list under Account and search for Cornerstone Youth Center Haunted Forest.
