Special to the Forum
On Monday, Oct. 5, something pretty exciting happened in Frazee.
The Economic Development Authority (EDA) committee participated in the Travel Blog Exchange (TBEX) Summit America 2026, which was held in Fargo. One-hundred social media people from around the United States arrived in Fargo for this convention which included, among other things, tour activities in Fargo, Detroit Lakes and Frazee.
The Frazee EDA committee put together an electric bike tour that began at the overpass bridge, the start of the Frazee section for the Heartland Trail. Tony Reller, MN e-bikes/ROA, provided Frazee with state-of-the- art electric bikes for our three social media guests.
Jim and Andrea Froeber led the group to the Big Turkey Park where Kenny Fett, Ross Mickelson, and Tom Watson shared stories of “Big Tom.”
The group also had a chance to view the beautiful Otter Tail River from the Lion’s Club shelter. From there, the group headed downtown to Little Turkey Park, the Moose sculpture and a stop at the ice-skating rink where beverages and protein bars were provided by Sting Nutrition.
Back on the bikes the group headed to the pickleball courts and then to Wannigan Regional Park. The group did the two-mile loop which included a stop at Frazee’s troll, Jacob Everear. Tom Watson met the social media group to provide some history on the Thomas Dambo trolls and Wannigan Regional Park. The group said Jacob was their favorite troll.
From the trails the views of Frazee are absolutely beautiful. Before the group could finish the final leg of the tour a Jam House kiosk on the corner of Lake St. and Birch caught their attention.
The group finished up by stopping at the downtown Frazee mural and then into the Event Center where the local eateries had prepared tables filled with delicious menu item samples
from their venues.
A big thank you to The Gobbler, Cornerstone Bistro, Mae’s Café, The Monarch, Homesweet Bake House, Mama’s Pizzeria and Scoops and Third Crossing Bar and Grill for pulling out the “stops” and welcoming this group who will most likely have many good things to say about their visit to Frazee.
The social media group included: Fadra Nally from Maryland; over a million viewers on YouTube. Jacqueline Shafeei from D.C. has 36,000 viewers on Instagram. Sharon Cannady, North Carolina, can be found on Instagram, Facebook, and Tiktok.
