Ricky R. Rasmussen, 66, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2022, at home under the care of family and Sanford Hospice. Ricky was born August 12, 1955, in Fort Huachuca, AZ to Donald and Ruby (Mindermann) Rasmussen. He grew up and attended school in Frazee, MN. Ricky met Diana Castle while working at Sher’s Kitchen and on December 2nd 1978 they married in Detroit Lakes, MN. Together they made their home in Moorhead, MN and started a family. Ricky owned Odds & Ends Carpentry, was a head cook and Manager at Fry’n Pan and spent 27 years working with Butler Machinery. Ricky enjoyed spending time with friends and family outdoors, fishing, and at deer camp with his friend Scott and many others. Ricky taught his love of wood working and carpentry to all his family and friends. 

He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his pranks and the love he showed to his family. The time he spent with his grandchildren was a highlight in his life. He will be dearly missed. 

Ricky is survived by his wife, Diana; daughters, SheriAnn (Darin) Maas of Moorhead, MN, Joy (Joe) Kade of Medford, OR, Geneva (Robert) Erickson of Fargo, ND, Amber (Bradley) Bender of Melbourne, FL; grandchildren, Anthony Bender, Kayden Rasmussen, Krysten Bender, McKenna Erickson, Morgan Wilson; parents, Donald (Jan) Rasmussen and Ruby Snethen; and sisters, Becky (Kevin) Lundgren, Donna (Larry) Galbrecht, Brenda (Paul) Montgomery; as well as nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his step-father, Jerry Snethen; grandparents, George and Gladys Mindermann; and Edward and Frieda Rasmussen.

Donations may be given to Roger Maris Cancer Center, Fargo, ND.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 28th, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., followed by the memorial service at 11:00 a.m., at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.
