Frazee splits doubleheader with OTC

Frazee Post 15 improved to 6-11 after splitting a pair of doubleheaders with Pelican Rapids and Otter Tail Central last week.
In addition to the doubleheaders, Frazee fell to New York Mills by a score of 6-0.
Frazee wrapped up their regular season on Monday with a doubleheader against Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal.
Tuesday
Post 15 split a doubleheader with Pelican Rapids on Tuesday night as Frazee won the first game by a score of 7-4, before dropping the nightcap by a score of 7-2.
In the first game of the night, Frazee made the most of 9 team hits as they jumped out to an early 5-1 lead after the bottom of the second inning.
After Pelican Rapids scored a run on a bases loaded walk in the bottom of the first inning, Frazee was able to get the bases loaded with no outs before Mark Jaroszewski hit a 2-run single to bring Caden Frank and Zach Longfors home to score. Kale Ovsak followed with a 1-run double to bring Scott Seim across the plate and make the score 3-1.
In the bottom of the second inning, Seim hit a 2-run single with two outs to give Post 15 a 5-1 lead.
Pelican Rapids was able to close the gap a bit in the top of the third inning as they scored a pair of runs and mace the score 5-4 in the top half of the fifth inning on an error.
The score remained 5-4 until the bottom of the sixth inning when Frazee gave itself a bit of breathing room when Asher Blaine hit a sacrifice fly to center field and Ovsak was hit with the bases loaded to bring a pair of runs across the plate.
Ovsak led the way offensively with 3 hits and a pair of RBIs in the win.
Seim picked up the win on the mound as he went 5 innings and gave up just 4 earned runs. He struck out an impressive 12 hitters.
In the second game of the night, Frazee scored a pair of runs in the top of the third inning to take a 2-1 lead, but couldn’t hold on as Pelican Rapids scored 3 runs in both the bottom of the third and fourth innings to come away with a 7-2 win.
The lone runs in the contest for Post 15 came in the top of the third inning when Frank hit a 2-run double with one out to bring Gage Post and Longfors across the plate.

Wednesday
Asher Blaine struck out 9 hitters in 4 innings, but 5 timely New York Mills hits proved to be the difference in a 6-0 loss on Wednesday night.
NY Mills broke a scoreless tie in the bottom of the third inning on an RBI single and added4 more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, as well as a single run in the bottom of the fifth inning to come away with the win.
Caden Frank and Gage Post were the lone Post 15 players to get a hit in the game for Frazee.

Thursday
A busy stretch of five games in three days came to an end on Thursday as Frazee split a doubleheader with Otter Tail Central on Thursday night.
After dropped the opening game of the night by a score of 11-1, Frazee bound back with a 4-2 win.
Most of Frazee’s damage came in the top of the third inning when Zach Longfors scored on a two out single by Caden Frank. Following back-to-back hit batters to load the bases up, Frazee scored a pair of runs on a wild pitch to make the game 3-0.
Frazee added another run in the top of the fifth inning on a Scott Seim sacrifice fly to make the game 4-0 in favor of Post 15. OTC was able to chip away at Frazee’s lead a bit in the bottom half of the fifth inning with a pair of runs, but would get no closer as Brandon Nguyen picked up the complete game with by giving up just 7 hits and a pair of runs.
In the opening game of the night OTC was able to jump out to a commanding 8-0 lead after the third inning thanks to 12 hits and 3 Frazee errors in the game. OTC added 3 more runs in the fifth inning to end the game by the 10-run rule.
