Iona Marie Tenter was born April 2, 1924, in Red Lake Falls, Minnesota the daughter of John and Florida (Brunelle) Kuld. She passed away Monday October 17, 2022, at the Hadley House in Perham, Minnesota.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith and grew up in the Red Lake Falls area. Iona received her Bachelor of Science degree from Moorhead State University. She taught at country school near Vergas and later in Perham.

On June 10, 1946, Iona was united in marriage to Ervin Tenter in Red Lake Falls. They made their home on a farm near Vergas. Iona and Ervin were members of the Vergas Methodist Church, where she was active with lady’s aid and the widower’s support group. She was a member in the Retired Teachers Association. Iona enjoyed spending time outdoors, raising chickens, reading and baking.

Iona was preceded in death by her parents: John and Florida Kuld; husband: Ervin Tenter in 1997.

Funeral service will be held 1:00 PM, Friday, October 21, 2022 at the Vergas United Methodist Church.

  Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7:00 PM at the Furey Funeral Home in Frazee and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church.
