Alcohol involved in crash near Perham

0Crash occurred in Gorman Township on Highway 10
Three people were injured in a two-vehicle, alcohol-related crash on Highway 10 six miles northwest of Perham on Saturday, Jan. 21.
A 2014 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by William John Baumgart, 34, of Perham, was eastbound on 460th Street and a 2012 Toyota Sequoia, driven by Karlee Ann Nelson, 30, of Waubun, was westbound on Highway 10 when they collided at the intersection deploying airbags in each vehicle.
The incident was reported at 12:38 p.m. on wet pavement in Gorman Township.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, alcohol was involved in regards to Baumgart, who was taken to the Perham hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Alcohol was not a factor in regards to Nelson or the three passengers in her Toyota.
Nelson suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Essentia St. Mary’s hospital in Detroit Lakes.
A male passenger, Roni Alexander Nelson, 40, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the Perham hospital.
A 4-year-old girl and a 5-year-old girl were not named in the report. They were listed as uninjured but taken to Essential St. Mary’s. All four occupants of the Toyota were wearing seat restraints.
The Perham police department, Perham Fire Department, Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office, and Essentia Ambulance assisted at the scene.
