The Frazee Fly Girls jazz team had one of its best performances of the season as they took first place out of seven teams on Saturday. The Fly Girls have won each of the meets they have entered this year.

The high kick team took second place out of nine teams as head coach Katrina Courneya said they will look to continue to work on their routine heading into Saturday’s meet in Detroit Lakes.

“Another solid competition for Frazee,” said Courneya. “We are so blessed to have this opportunity to dance.”

In addition to their high finishes last weekend, the Hornets learned last week that the Minnesota State High School League will be sponsoring a state dance competition later this winter. The news of a state tournament has created a new set of goals for the dancers to achieve this year.

“These dancers are ready to put the work in this week and we are super excited that the Minnesota High School League announced last week that there is officially going to be a state tournament. So we definitely have some new goals for our season,” she said.
