The annual Turkey Days dance may return to a traditional street dance format for those 18 and older. During a Frazee Public Safety Committee meeting Thursday, May 24, Turkey Days Chair Amber Bender asked for support for bringing the dance back to Main Avenue after several years of being held in the parking lot of the event center. Bender said excitement has been building around the idea, but wanted to make sure any issues about safety were addressed. She explained the plan is to locate the stage trailer between the VFW and the barber shop so it is facing east.

Kevin Ketter is banking on Frazee’s Main Avenue. He’s banking there will be a market for antiques, collectables and crafts in Frazee. Ketter purchased the former United Community Bank building from the City of Frazee this spring. The location is excellent—at the corner of Main Avenue and Highway 87. With a little work, the building has been redesigned as an outlet for antiques, collectables and crafts.

While a 50 percent cut in Frazee’s summer ag program could be fully reinstated after contract renegotiations. During Monday’s Frazee School Board meeting, the board made $185,000 in cuts, which included a 50 percent reduction in the summer ag program. Another motion to accept the unrequested leave of absence for ovational agricultural instructors Doug Schwarzrock and Ken Hammer due to lack of funds, may allow the school to renegotiate their summer contracts. The district plans to check on that option.

Many have been looking at the sign for some time, anticipating their first pizza. The doors to Frazee’s new pizzeria should open next week, say owners Chuck and Brenda Minge. The Minges plan to start with the basics and slowly introduce other foods and services as time goes on. Chubby Chucky’s Pizzeria will offer thin-crust pizza, broasted chicken, soft serve ice cream and tap beer to start, with baked beans, coleslaw and potato salads on the side.
