Candace Mecklenburg, an advanced practice registered nurse and certified nurse practitioner specializing in cardiology, is excited to join the Essentia Health St. Mary’s-Detroit Lakes Clinic.

“My travel nursing background allowed me to work at more than 15 health care organizations, but Essentia Health has been one of the best places I have ever worked,” said Mecklenburg who started with Essentia in 2016 as an RN supervisor in the Essentia Health-Fargo ICU. “I want to continue to work for Essentia because the collaboration among team members is top-notch.”

Mecklenburg received her education from North Dakota State University. She is certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

“I have enjoyed caring for cardiac patients since working as a nursing assistant in 2001,” said Mecklenburg. “Most of my nursing career has included working in the cardiac ICU. I look forward to promoting heart health with patients in the clinic setting.”
