0Dale H. Kessler, 90, of Grand Rapids, died on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 in Home and Comfort in Coleraine.
Born on January 10, 1934 in Evergreen Township, MN he was the son of August and Mary (Mattfield) Kessler. He was united in marriage to Ardes Tessman on June 17, 1953, and they then made their home in the Grand Rapids area after Dale got a job in the mines. He worked as a mechanic in various mines throughout the range, retiring from National Steel in Keewatin with over 40 years in the mining industry. He was a member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Bovey where he was a Elder and on different church boards. He loved working on cars and lawn mowers, he was the family mechanic. He also enjoyed cutting wood, plowing gardens with his farmall tractor, and tinkering in the garage.
Survivors include his wife Ardes, his children; Susan (Bart) Murphy Wulff, Carla Aimonetti, David (Denise) Kessler and daughter-in-law, Sue Kessler. 9 Grandchildren; Angie (Bryce) Beckel, Aaron (Lenae) Aimonetti, Rhea (Aaron) Mikulich, Andrew Murphy, Katie (Andy) Sertich, Ryan (Laura) Murphy, Dan (Leah) Kessler, Leo Kessler and Emily (Tyler) Peterson and 12 Great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Dan Kessler, and a son-in-law; John Murphy, and siblings; Archie Kessler, Emil Kessler, Esther Mueller, George Kessler, Dorothy Erickson and Alice Anderson.
Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the 1:00 PM Funeral Service on Saturday, January 20, 2024 in the Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Bovey. Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Coleraine.
