The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Posse announced the, “Posse Member of the Year for 2023” at their annual awards meeting in December.

Dennis Sazama, a lifelong resident of Otter Tail County, was voted by Posse members for the award due to his outstanding participation and role as Supply Sergeant. A six-year posse veteran, Sazama completely reorganized the supply system to ensure members had the equipment required to perform their duties, which range from supporting a search and rescue operation, assisting with a natural disaster, or for routine events throughout the county, such as the East and West County Fairs, Phelps Mill Art Festival and 15 others.

In his personal life, Sazama is a lake dweller on Berger Lake, Dent, where he operates a hobby farm with cattle, has a gravel pit at that location, and has served many years on the Board for Edna Township. He is also actively involved with his church missionary program.
