Notes from the Chief
Welp, I spoke too soon. By the time you read last week’s paper there were 2 baby calves on the ground alive and well.
If memory does serve me correctly, a bull or 2 may have gotten out last June but I thought we got them back in their penalty box right away.
Oh well, the 2 bull calves are tagged, banded and part of the herd now. Hopefully there won’t be any more surprises although the weather is about perfect for calving. I’m sure there will be some April snow showers to help calving season along though.
Not a whole lot else is going on at the farm as this is probably the slowest time of the year for us. As soon as the calves start hitting the ground it will be a knock down drag out.

Male was also concerned about marijuana smell coming from an apartment (which is legal in Minesota now). Also believed there are juveniles coming and going from the apartment. He let the landlord know of the issues.
11:39 a.m. Report of a random vehicle in a yard. It appeared that the vehicle was parked in an orderly manner as if the person parked the vehicle and rode to work with the reporting party’s boyfriend. Female was going to do some checking.
9:06 p.m. Report of suspicious activity at the Cornerstone, possibly ghosts. Deputies arrived and did not find anything out of the ordinary. A check of the city cameras shows three teenage boys in the area and two of the boys threw or attempted to throw rocks at the building. Nothing was damaged. Officer talked with the boys and told them it would be a good idea to make things right with Cornerstone.
Wednesday March 13
3:20 p.m. Report of two teenage boys stealing a phone and air pods from another boy at the high school. Officer on duty was notified and tracked the boys to an apartment in town. Officer was able to use some Jedi mind tricks along with some old fashioned Magnum P.I. investigative work to recover the items. Possible charges of felony theft and or robbery are pending against one or two juvenile boys.
4:49 p.m. Report of a vehicle at a business with a male driver inside since 1 p.m. Business wanted male checked on and moved along. Male was somewhat confrontational with officer and deputy and would not leave the property when asked. Officer told the male that he was on private property and the business owner asked him to leave. Male reluctantly left the area. It was reported the next day that the male was in town again at a different business. Officer did not see the male or pickup and did not get a complaint from the business.
7:17 p.m. Report of a child who had a bike accident and was crying at the football field. Officer arrived and found the boy along with an older sibling who already called mom. Mom arrived and took the boy.
