Marie I. Crozier, age 96, Frazee, MN, died Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Pelican Landing in Detroit Lakes, MN.

A Celebration of Marie’s life will be 11:00 am, Thursday, August 1, at David-Donehower Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Frazee.

Marie Irene Crozier was born November 3, 1927, in Fargo, ND, to Albert and Marie (Rogstad) Bjorge. She moved with her family to the Tamarac Wildlife Refuge north of Detroit Lakes as a young girl and to Mahnomen, MN, in 1944. Marie is a 1945 graduate of Mahnomen High School. She then attended the Detroit Lakes Business College, graduating in 1946. Her first job was at the Fergus Falls State Hospital in Fergus Falls. She moved to Frazee to help her sister, Margaret in 1947, where she met Don Crozier. They were married March 5, 1947, in Gulkona, Alaska. They made their home in Fairbanks, where Marie worked at Ladd Air Force Base. They returned to Frazee in 1948 and to Wisconsin in 1949. They returned to Frazee in 1954 and made their home near Rose Lake. They spent their summers and falls in Alaska, where Don worked for Green Construction building roads. In 1974, he was involved in the building of the Alaskan Pipeline, retiring in 1992.

Marie treasured time with her grand and great grandchildren. She and Don put many miles on the car attending sporting events. She also enjoyed gardening, her flowers and canning. The coffee pot was always on.

Survivors include her daughter, Colleen (Tim) Nustad; 3 grandchildren: Joshua (Ginna) Nustad and their children: Layla and Jaden; Joseph (Alisha) Nustad and their children, Zoey, Emma and Henry; Molly (Evan) Anderson and their children, Lewis and Maple. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don; a son, Danny; her sister, Margaret Courneya; and her brother, Robert.
