The 70th annual Turkey Days celebration came to a close on Sunday with the grand parade. Among the entrants in the parade was Anderson Bus Line (above), the Frazee-Vergas High School Marching Band (right), a horse and handler (middle right), Frazee Care Center (middle below) and the Frazee-Vergas High School classes 1980-82. Middle below: There were 15 participants in the return of the Turkey Calling contest at Town Lake Beach Friday afternoon. Three winners were awarded for their efforts: Carson Courneya, Katie Courneya and Lori Fischer Thorp. Bottom right: Participants in the Kids Fishing Derby filled the fishing docks at Town Lake Beach and others tried to nab a winning fish from the shoreline in a very popular event at this year’s Turkey Days. Bottom left: Kids were enjoying the 120-foot Slip & Slide at Bubba’s Annual Extravaganza on Cherry Street. The three-year event joined the Turkey Days celebration for the first time this summer.

Below: Outgoing Miss Frazee Hailey Selly and Miss Frazee Teen Sophia Strand hosted the Junior King and Queen competition Saturday morning at the high school gymnasium, along with the contestants for both Miss Frazee crowns. Kaden Wanner, son of Jana Wanner was crowned this year’s Junior King. Kate Anderson, daughter of Elise and Eric Anderson was the Junior Queen. Maurice Mitchell, son of Trescha Mitchell was the Junior Prince and Audrey Wheeler, daughter of Ericka Avilez, was this year’s Junior Princess.
