Eight fire departments responded to a fire in the heart of lakes country last Monday night. A large fire struck Stub’s Dining & Gunpowder Bar on Monday, Sept. 16 shortly after 9:30 p.m. The cause of the fire is still unknown and it has to yet-to-be-determined if the building was a total loss. The bar/restaurant officially opened in 1969 by Stub Digre and was a staple of the greater Battle Lake and lakes area.
