Ronny Lee Schwartz, our beloved Dad, Grandpa, and all-around go-to guy for fixing just about anything, peacefully passed away at his lake home on Loon Lake near Vergas, MN, on Sunday, September 22, 2024. True to form, he was surrounded by family, friends, and a to-do list that still had a couple things left to cross off.

Born on July 2, 1945, in Steele, ND, to Christ and Lydia (Streyle) Schwartz, Ron was the youngest of 11 kids.  The family farmed in Tuttle, ND before moving to Fargo in 1950.  As a child Ron spent his summers helping his older siblings with work on their farms.  Ron graduated from Central High School in 1963. He married Carol Ann Henne on May 1, 1965, and together they raised two kids, Lee and Tari.

Ron proudly served in the North Dakota Army National Guard for six years and worked at Cass County Highway Department and UPS before putting his entrepreneurial hat on, founding All-New Gutter Service, Raindrop Rentals, and Valley Gutter Service before settling into the good life at the lake upon retirement.

His lake home was his pride and joy – a place where laughter echoed, memories were made, and chores were part of the fun. For nearly 60 years, his 1964 Pontiac LeMans convertible was his sidekick, cruising to car shows and parades, top down and smiles up. Ron loved hunting, fishing, and traveling with friends. There wasn’t a Raiders game he’d miss – a big fan after his time spent with Errol Mann during his Guard years who later went on to become a kicker for the team.  Ron was a lifelong member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church and proud Amvets lifetime member.

Ronny is survived by his son, Lee Schwartz; daughter & son-in-law, Tari & Steve Wieers; grandkids, Connor (Mercedes) Wieers, Katie Wieers, Hunter Schwartz, and Bella Schwartz; sisters, Betty Berg and Delores Wagner; sister-in-law, Ann Schwartz; brother-in-law, Joe Schaff; and many nieces and nephews.  Waiting to greet him in heaven are his parents; siblings, Marcella (Reuben), Sharon, Gladys, Ida (Irv), Ruby, Albert, and Harold; and brother-in-law, Marvin.
