Wolf Lake resident Terry Beck knows how important grieving the loss of a loved one is, and how hard it can be for children. “When I was 12 my sister died,” Beck recalled. “She was 21. She had complications from childbirth. The baby had its chord wrapped around its neck. They did an emergency C-section, but the baby died at birth.” Beck shared her sister passed away 21 days after the tragedy from a massive pulmonary embolism. “I struggled with it,” she said. Beck shared at Camp Emily in Fergus Falls is offering a free camp for those who lost a loved one from 9-3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12. The event is for youth, ages 7-18, and their parents or guardians.

The Peavey Lumber Co. in Frazee was broken into Monday night and the office was literally torn apart by the burglars search for money. Frazee’s Peavey manager Herve Nunn said it did not appear that anything was missing, but it will take many hours to straighten out the files and stacks of paper work that were strewn on the floor. A room behind the office containing an unlocked safe was also entered. Nunn said that no money was left overnight in either the office or safe. The burglars gained entry by ripping off a large door on the west side of the warehouse and then pried open the interior doors.
