The Retail Committee of the Frazee Community Club met Tuesday to consider an increasing problem at Frazee stores—SHOPLIFTING—by juveniles and adults. The committee unanimously agreed that the best way to curb shoplifting is to prosecute the offenders. Local retail merchants and Frazee police officers hereby issue this warning that all shoplifters who are caught, regardless of who they are or what is taken from a store, WILL BE prosecuted to the full extent of the law, including first offenders. Minors caught shoplifting will be taken to juvenile court. For adults, shoplifting is a misdemeanor carrying a maximum fine of $300. On larger items shoplifting can carry a felony charge.
