0Alice Ruth Puttbrese (98), of Frazee MN, passed away October 13, 2021 at her home.
Alice was born to Art and Minnie (Wollin) Pederson on September 17, 1923 in Twin Valley, MN. She attended school in Twin Valley, Waubun and Ogema, MN. She married Everette Puttbrese on October 15th, 1938 in Ogema at age 15. To this union 9 children were born Gloria, Phyllis, Rodger, Patricia, Eugene, Gary, Monty, Laurette and David.
Alice worked for Swift’s factory for 30 years. She also trained as a Chef. She did a lot of gardening and canning. She and Everette would also go wild ricing in their handmade canoe. She made many beautiful flower beds, enjoyed sewing clothing and working with dried flowers. She sewed many warm mittens for neighbors. She had a beautiful singing voice, played the accordion and guitar. She loved dressing up and always looked sharp. Alice loved going to church and bible studies, she had a strong Christian faith which she shared with most everyone she met. Alice especially loved visits with her children, grandchildren and friends but always enjoyed visiting with anyone.
Alice is survived by her 4 daughters Gloria Halverson, Frazee MN; Phyllis Bahr, Federal Way WA; Patricia Lorenzen and Laurette (James) Schmidt, Detroit Lakes MN. 25 Grandchildren, 51 great- grandchildren, and 18 great-great grandchildren. Daughter-in-laws Beverly and Mary Puttbrese, Shirley Eidenschink.
She is preceded in death by her parents Art and Minnie Pederson, husband Everette Puttbrese, Siblings Mildred, Dorothy, Eleanor, Norman, Earl, Bill, Irvin and her twin sister Ardis. Her 5 sons Rodger, Eugene, Gary, Monty and David Puttbrese and 1 great-granddaughter, Alexa Rishovd.
A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. October 26th, 2021 at Harvest Fellowship Church, Frazee MN. Visitation 1:00 p.m. There will be a private family burial at a later date.
