The family of Jessie Quade has watched her struggle through two kidney transplants, and to ease the burden of bills they arranged a benefit to honor the 1999 Frazee High School graduate. Jessie, the daughter of Larry and Karen Quade has endured two kidney transplants in 16 years. After receiving a kidney from her aunt Tammy Quade she was able to live a normal life, then the kidney rejection started. She went through many different forms of dialysis and in early March she was given another opportunity at normalcy as a 40-year-old woman from California who was a donor and had her kidneys harvested. Surgery took place at the U of M and she has had several complications and has a weak immune system. Meds are allowing her to keep her new kidney but is requiring an absence from work.
The Frazee Liquor Store is looking for a new manager. The Frazee City Council approved the resignation of current manager Tanya Mastin at the monthly meeting on December 12. Mastin states she has enjoyed her time working for the City of Frazee and was grateful the opportunities that were given to her.
Brett Stall took top honors at the invite-only Boyd Gaming Chute-Out In Las Vegas December 8-10. Stall won the championship round with a 86.5 score to take first place.

The new mobile family service center is now on the road and servicing towns within the Frazee Vergas School District. Its first official stop was in Frazee last Thursday, with a weekly schedule now set up. The center presently offers applications for HUD, medical assistance, fuel and weatherization programs, Early Childhood Family registration and library access via its computer.
Daggett Truck Line will be unveiling a new “moving billboard” promoting Minnesota as a vacation destination on Monday. The event will be held at 12 P.M., indoors at Daggett Truck Line in Frazee. T.V., radio, newspaper media and chamber officials will be present for the “official” unveiling. The trucking company is unveiling its new 53-fott trailer, complete with the Minnesota Office of tourism’s toll-free travel information phone number and the theme: “For a change of pace, try a change of seasons.” During the next year, the truck will carry the “Explore Minnesota” message along with its freight as it travels 120,000 miles throughout the United States and Canada.

The $2,481.50 in donations given to the recently completed Frazee Community Fund Drive marks a new high in receipts for this annual appeal, according to Mrs. Marvin Daggett, drive Chairman. Commendation is surely given to residents and businesses in our community for their generous donations. A special thank you goes out to all the volunteers who went door to door during this fund raising drive.
Kermit Otto, Treasurer of the Frazee-Vergas school Board resigned effective December 31st. Mr. Otto was recently appointed to the Frazee Village Council and since under the law these two positions are not considered compatible and it was his decision to resign from the school board.
The Frazee Jaycees are still desperately in need of used toys to be given to the less fortunate children this Christmas. Notice to Jaycees: Repair and reconditioning of the used toys will be done Friday evening at 7 p.m. at the Industrial Arts Dept. at the high school. Any individuals are invited to participate as well.
