0The Little Lady Hornets Bumblebee season was a success to say the least. Thirty girls join to work on skills and fundamentals on Wednesday nights with the help of the varsity members of the Lady Hornets team and coach Alexis Tappe. The coaches involved numerous skills, such as ball handling, defensive principles, passing, shooting sorm and to have fun.
The coaches made sure the atmosphere was positive and inviting for all, no matter if basketball was new to the player or if they had some experience. The Little Lady Hornets have gained some role models to look up to while progressing their own skills and abilities in the game of basketball.
“As a coach I hope the interest stays there for the Little Lady Hornets to continue to build the program,” Tappe said.
Boys Bumblebee Baskeball camp held
Frazee Bumblebee Basketball for boys in first and second grade was planned to be held on Saturdays for six weeks in January and February. Unfortunately, due to the weather, only five practices were held.
The energetic young lads were coached by the boys on the high school team. They worked mostly on ball handling and passing, although there were some shots put up as well.
“The hour-long practices flew by as fun was being had by all,” said varsity head coach Ryan Vigen. “If the energy and enthusiasm displayed by the group is any indication, it is obvious that the future of Frazee basketball is bright.”
