Two newly-built houses are now on the market in Frazee thanks to a partnership between the city and Midwest Minnesota Community Development Corporation. The split-level homes offer 912-square-feet of living space on two levels. Future owners have the option of having the basement finished, or left for the handyman of the house to complete. Each house offers living spaces on both floors, the option for four bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen with a breakfast bar, a dining area next to the patio exit, a utility room and there is an option of adding a detached garage.

What the daily bus schedule in Frazee will look like is up to the residents who attend an open house on Tuesday, March 21 from 4:30-7 p.m. at the Frazee Fire Hall. Becker County Transit takes riders of all ages to Detroit Lakes for work, medical appointments, shopping or a night out on the town. Schedule options will be posted in the Frazee Fire Hall and each person attending the open house will be given stickers to place on the schedule(s) that best fits their needs.

The Frazee Planning Commission was asked about zoning for signage during the monthly meeting on Tuesday, March 7. Frazee City Administrator Denise Anderson reported a representative for the Dollar Store which is proposed for West Maple Avenue, contacted the city and wanted information on sign regulations. Anderson said she contacted the former city administrator, and he stated the city never adopted a policy regarding signage.

Mayor Robert Matthews and Fire Chief Jarrod Christen are happy to recieve Frazee’s new fire truck, which was delivered Friday. The new pumper-taker is a 2 ½ ton International with a 750 gallon water tank and has a pump capable of pumping water at rate of 750 gallons per minute. The new fire wagon is painted yellow, the newly recommended safety color for emergency vehicles in Minnesota. The new truck cost was about $17,000, and another $2,500 will be spent to equip the vehicle with hose and fire fighting apparatuses. The cost will be shared by the Village of Frazee and townships which the fire department serves. With the addition of this new truck, it is expected that a lower insurance rate classification will be given the area served by the Frazee Fire Department. The fire vehicle was built by General Safety Equipment Co. of North Branch, Minn.
