Hornets finish in seventh at Beaver Relays

Nathan Johannsen captured first place in the 800-meter run as the Frazee Hornets competed at the Beaver Relays on Tuesday. The event was held indoors at Bemidji State University with 19 teams competing in the event. 

Johannsen captured first in the 800-meter run with a personal best time of 2:10.52. He finished just 1 second ahead of second place Jack McQuown of Clearbrook-Gonvick. 

In the 400-meter run, Johannsen also took seventh place in the 400-meter dash with a time of 55.88. There were 67 people who participated in the event. He also captured fourth place in the 60-meter hurdles with finals time of 9.68 seconds. It was a personal best for the Frazee senior.

Ian Cottrell took sixth place in the shot put with a persona best throw of 38’9 1/2”. 

As a team the Hornets finished in seventh place with a score of 34 points. Park Rapids Area narrowly defeated Wadena-Deer Creek for the top spot with a score of 89 points. WDC finished with 82 points to take second.
