0Donald “Donnie” S. Foltz, age 74 of Perham, MN, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at the Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND. Donnie was born in Humphrey, Nebraska on February 17th, 1950 to Joe and Marie Foltz. Donnie grew up on a farm in Frazee, MN with his six siblings. He attended Frazee High School and was a proud Hornet wrestler and football player.
Donnie met his wife Connie during his high school years and the two high school sweethearts were married for 49 years. They were blessed with five children (Courtney, Tiffany, Mackenzie, Joseph and Zachary) and nineteen grandchildren. Nothing meant more to Donnie than time at home with this wife and family. Donnie and Connie did everything together. You would often see them working around their yard, having the most perfect manicured garden and flower beds, spending nights at their river lot with friends and going for motorcycle drives out in the country. Donnie cared for his wife during her terminal illness which truly demonstrated the amazing man he was.
Donnie worked for 47 years for Tuffy’s Pet Foods, starting the day after he graduated from high school. He took much pride in his work and in this time met some of his closest friends. Donnie also proudly served his community, by being part of the Perham Fire Department for 45 years. Donnie was a man of hard work and dedication in everything he did.
In recent years, Donnie continued to enjoy hunting and fishing, exercising at the PACC, caring for his cows on the hobby farm, assisting his boys at the shop, attending sporting events (both Perham and Frazee) and his role as “grandpa.” He was at every single event he could make to support his grandkids and they admired him just the same.
Donnie is survived by his children including sons: Zachary (Betsy) Foltz, Joseph (Tasha) Foltz and daughters: Mackenzie (Bryan) Blume, Tiffany (Travis) Nagel, and Courtney (Nathan) Rooney. He was blessed with 19 grandchildren: Kymree, Taya, Edison, Eve, Chloe, Quinn, Finley, Alex, Haley, Brody, Maddux, Abby, Jake, Cade, Noah, Natalie, Ty, Josie and Paisley. He was also survived by his three sisters Doris (Ted) Wenner, Susan Foltz-Hiedeman and Estelle Arneson.
