Gloria Curtis, age 77, of New York Mills, passed away on January 31, 2024, at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, N.D. Funeral Services were held on Monday, February 5, 2024, at Trinity Lutheran Church in New York Mills with Pastor Dan Larsen officiating. Congregational Hymns were accompanied by Janell Brakel. Honorary Pallbearers were Kendra Burger, Stephen Parlow, Raine Curtis, Seth Parlow, Zoe Curtis, Reece Nelson, Corabeth Curtis, and Reagan Nelson.
Gloria Diane (Wick) Curtis was born August 16, 1946, at Rice Hospital in Wilmar, Minn., to Marvin and Luella (Mindermann) Wick. She was baptized on October 14, 1946, at Bethlehem Lutheran Parsonage, Frazee, her sponsors were Marie and Emil Wick. Gloria was confirmed on April 10, 1950, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Frazee. She graduated from Frazee High School on May 28, 1964.
Gloria and Roger Curtis were united into marriage on February 18, 1966, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Frazee. Gloria and Roger were blessed to have four children Marsha, Douglas, Denise and Ross.
Gloria worked at the Senior Center as Manager, Elders Home as a Cook, The Eagles Café as a Waitress, and a Punch Card Operator in Minneapolis. She was involved in the Homemakers Club, Trinity Lutheran Women Mission League, and VBS Superintendent. Gloria loved to crochet, knit, sew, and tend her flower garden. She was an avid reader, movie buff, and enjoyed the music of Neil Diamond. Gloria also loved wild Tiger Lilies, sunrises, sunsets, and hummingbirds.
Deeply loved, Gloria’s passing is mourned by her husband of 57 years Roger; children: Marsha Parlow of Robbinsdale, Minn., Douglas (Michelle) Curtis of Wadena, Denise (Shawn) Nelson of Barnesville, Minn., and Ross Curtis of Chaska Minn.; nine grandchildren: Dustin Schlienler, Kendra Burger, Stephen Parlow, Raine Curtis, Seth Parlow, Zoe Curtis, Reece Nelson, Corabeth Curtis, and Reagan Nelson; five great-grandchildren: Juvia Burger, Hunter Schlienler, Riley Coyer, William Burger, and Alison Coyer; siblings: Linda (Ray) Vogle of Fargo, N.D. and Darrell (Nancy) Wick of Frazee.
Gloria is preceded in death by her parents Marvin and Luella Wick.
